Honest review from a professional DJ!
If you search on Google for "DJ Emergency" you will find some of my mixes, remixes, and original music all over the Internet. As a professional DJ I try my best to provide some pointers to developers for making their products and applications work best for any DJ out there. So I decided to write a review with my opinion on the good and bad of this application to maybe help the person thinking on purchasing the app and help the developers to make it a great application for any type of DJ. Let's start with the good first and then get down to the issues of the app. The Good: - The effects! The ones I tried worked very well with what I needed to do to trick out the mix. I haven't purchased extra records to buy any other effects yet, but you will know why when I talk about the bad things about this app. - Scratching. Works just like it should! The sound is smooth and not choppy like some other DJ apps out there. - Soundcloud integration! This feature I love!!! No need to fill my iOS device with so much music that I barely have room for anything else. Just log into my soundcloud account and start grabbing music from the cloud! It loads pretty fast as well! - Stereo Split for Cueing. Great addition for every DJ out there! Without being able to cue up your music while listening into the headphones it would be a guessing game, but this app has the support so no worries! - Low Latency! Very low! Which is great and does make it for smooth transitions and syncing. - And much more!!! The Bad... - The Turntable Tone Arm... This is so annoying that it's a total turn away for me... Every time I load a track and want to hit play I have to wait for that stupid tone arm to get on the record before it plays. Why not just have the tone arm move onto the record when you load the song? Would make life easier when you want to mix a song in quickly. - In-App-Purchases... It's way too expensive to be honest. I understand that you have sales, but to unlock everything in the app it's $49.99?! And THAT is with 60% sale! This would scare customers away to go for another app "cough" DJay anybody? It's almost like the same app with almost the same features for $4.99... - Uploading your mixes to soundcloud... You can stream through Soundcloud, but not upload to it? This option doesn't exist and should be part of the app OR you can use an alternative like Mixcloud to upload your mixes and share it with the world. I'll be adding more to my review as time progresses. So keep checking often to get updates of what I think. Thank you.
